Dear FoA Member and All Friends of Afghanistan, שָׁלוֹם, سلام, мир,

With Giving Tuesday nearing and your end-of-year charitable priorities in mind, please ensure that your RPCV organization, Friends of Afghanistan (FoA,) is among your considerations as we approach the Holidays and the New Year. However robust or modest, your contribution gives us direct reach into Kabul, Mazar, Jalalabad, Herat, and rural and provincial Afghanistan.

As you read this plea, America is ending our twenty-year mission in Afghanistan. We RPCVs and other Friends of Afghanistan know that the children and grandchildren of our former colleagues and students will become Taliban targets and pay a steep price following our departure. We sincerely ask that you support our SIV-2021 initiative and help us bring eligible SIV awardees to safety in the United States.

The famine in Afghanistan is continuing to spread nationwide and put millions of people at risk of starvation. Donations to this fund will be used to supply famine relief through Friends of Afghanistan NGO partners in Afghanistan.

Since the fall of the Afghan Government to the Taliban, FoA officers and members have served as coordinators of refugee advisory and support groups around America. We have also continued our coordination with partner organizations in Afghanistan. Our ambitious 2022 assistance programs in the US and Afghanistan are on pace to equal our outstanding efforts of the past two years assisting individuals, families, and small Afghan communities. This year our efforts will save lives.
